How to play billiards

Billiards was the original game that was played before snooker was invented. Billiards is a game of rules and there are lots of them, though you cannot learn all of them and master them to there are some basic rules and a code of conduct that has to be followed while playing. Billiards is serious game which requires professional attitude and a lot of concentration, thinking, strategizing and then exercising your mind. It is a game of composure. It doesn’t need all that physical activity other than certain postures which you might develop while playing the game.

The main contents of a billiard game are a cue, which is a long stick that is used to hit the balls which are kept on the billiards board. The cue is held with both the hands. Players usually hold one end of the cue and then place the tip of the cue between the fingers of the other hand. While one hand holds it firmly the other barely supports it and only directs the cue. The other part of the game is the balls which are arranged like a pyramid on the billiards table. The cue is used to hit these balls so that they are dispersed and then the game continues after that.

The entire game of billiards depends on how the balls were hit by the player for the first time. After the first shot the player needs to strategize his moves and actually plan how to hit each ball so that he wins. To put it in short, in the game of billiards victory is the result of a planned effort.
